US State 28: Newport, Rhode Island

This weekend I had a trip to a new state.. maybe Rhode Island my 28th state!! This was more of a relaxing weekend with my partner, and he and I had a great time. I highly recommend visiting.

Where we stayed:

Serenity Inn New Port

This was such a cute in. Everyone here was so sweet. They have a fabulous breakfast every morning. Day 1 we had eggs benedict with fruit and other options for cereals. Day 2 we had quiche, coffee cake, fruits etc.

Its close enough for to the downtown so you can walk quickly to Thames road for food, bar and shops.

Be sure to book directly with me👍🏾

What we did:

1. Food Tour

My partner and I love food and learning about a city. Its a good walk, and I liked that it touched some areas we would not have otherwise ventured to. Its run by a couple who retired in the area. They were fab!

The tour generally starts either 11:30 or 12 PM in front of The Armory.

2. Dinner at Mama Luisa

Be sure to book early. This is a nice Italian restaurant that is in a house. The dining are in separate rooms of the house, so gives it a smaller intimate feel. Great food, and was a recommendation while we were on the food tour

3. Bar hopping

I am not sure which bars we went to, but there a lot of choices. We enjoyed the live music, and a few drinks. Find your vibe and enjoy💃🏾

4. Cliff Walk

We of course had to get to the Cliff walk. It was recommended to drive up on Narragansett street and start the walk there. On the map it would be #3 check point where you begin close to Salve Regina University. We walked quite a while down, then just took the trolly $2 back to our parking. We parked on a side street. Just be sure you read any signs for parking, but most homes are fine with parking.
