A New Kind of Passport: National Parks

I have always desired to explore new places right here in America, but honestly I didn’t know where to start or how to go about it. Kind of crazy, when I have already gone to 30 countries in the world to see what they have to offer.. but it is true. The US has so many places and things to do, that really I am unsure of just how to go about it. On a trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee for my Spelunking trip I came upon my solution. As my friends and I explored Chattanooga, to the World’s steepest passenger Train incline, we were recommended to check out Pointe Park for beautiful views of the city. Unfortunately it was rather cloudy and we could hardly see the views, but something awesome came out of the adventure. It was rather cold, and one of my friends had to use the bathroom. …

Salt Therapy: Relaxation Hour

Immediately as I stepped into the salt room, I was calmed by the low lighting and cream walls. It was just bright enough to get you in the mood to really relax your body and mind. Along with the cool and calm ambience of the decor soft instrumentals filled the room… that is when I decided to take my first deep breath… And it hits me right away.. the air seems thicker in the room and I let out coughs because I truly was not ready for what I experienced. Slowing my breathing a little, I eventually got accustomed to the air. Much in the same, I opened my mouth at one point, and could truly taste salt on my tongue, even by licking my lips… but I took my seat among the 6 chairs there and began inhaling deeply. In silence as I did not want to disturb those around …

Ever get to a new city/country and start snapping pictures of every cool things you see… buildings, people, food.. BUT YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE!!?? While it may be obvious when taking pictures with the Eiffel Tower or even the Statue of Liberty… what about the other buildings and cool things unknown to you. This is usually where people go after EXPENSIVE tours on buses to get and understanding of where you are and know what the heck you are taking pictures. You may not even fall into this category and just roam around cities snapping pictures because “it seems like it is important.” And that is okay too… but I am here to tell you there is another way (and quite frankly I think it is AMAZING!) Figure Skating in a War Zone

They glided on the  ice so gracefully… back and forth… it seemed effortless. Warm ups had such flow, as players took shots and seemed to float on top of the ice. That is until the period started and the puck dropped! It was like World War III, Tampa Bay vs Vancouver. These hockey players wasted no time pushing each other against the walls, tripping each other, even punching each other in the back of the head in some instances. And just like that, one item on my 2015 Bucket List was accomplished!!! I was simply scrolling through my email and saw a good deal to attend a Tampa Bay Lightning Game on Living Social (I am addicted to Living Social and GroupOn! Don’t judge me!!). I Immediately checked it out and realized it was a pretty good deal. For $25 I get to experience hockey and get a free puck… Though …

Naked Truth: The Longest and Best Bath Someone Else Gave Me

In December 2013, I had my first experience with a Turkish Bath (Hamam). It was by far the best spa experience I have ever encountered. After a long day of tours with my friend (a volleyball player playing in Turkey at the time) I told him I wanted to go to the Turkish Bath. Shocked and a little uneasy he decided he would go but he would not have anyone bathing him… This was understandable. I am however, not a shy girl when it comes to being naked in front of others: I bathed in a river in Jamaica most of my young life and showered naked as an athlete among my teammates. So I was going for the full-blown experience and was so excited to do so. I decided to choose Çemberlitaş Hamami, a common hamam for tourist dues to its close proximity to major tram stops (Grand Bazaar & Sultanahmet) and the quality of the experience …
