9 days until I see Janet Jackson in concert… my #9 pick is Rhythm Nation!!

While many know that Janet loves getting you up and dancing, what better reason to get you moving and grooving than to better the world by uniting us despite our differences.

It is no surprise that this would be in my top 10 of songs… knowing how much I care about the world, uniting people to help one another. This song is definitely on my playlist of when I am working for my non-profit, when I am feeling like things in this world continue to get worse by the day, when I really just need to understand why I must keep pushing.

We are truly in this together, and years after the release of this song we really need to find that connection… we still have yet to break the color lines, still battling social injustice.. we still are afraid to lend a helping hand to help others succeed.
