150 Feet into the Earth and Beyond (Spelunking Overnight)

While most people like to spend their nights in hotels and resorts, at this point in my life… all that is cool… but unless you are a “7 star” in Dubai… BEEN THERE… DONE THAT!! So, my friends and I decided we will be sleeping in a cave.I wasn’t very surprised I couldn’t really round-up a lot of people as excited as I was for a cave adventures… most were clearly afraid of bats, claustrophobia and dirt and would rather a comfy bed and pillow to lay their head but that didn’t stop me. Luckily I was able to round-up about 4 people willing to make the journey with me… and the plans begun. Unfortunately, 2 of my friends had car troubles driving down to Tennessee and could not make it, but I was so thankful they were okay and got back safely. As for me and the remaining 2… we …

A New Kind of Passport: National Parks

I have always desired to explore new places right here in America, but honestly I didn’t know where to start or how to go about it. Kind of crazy, when I have already gone to 30 countries in the world to see what they have to offer.. but it is true. The US has so many places and things to do, that really I am unsure of just how to go about it. On a trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee for my Spelunking trip I came upon my solution. As my friends and I explored Chattanooga, to the World’s steepest passenger Train incline, we were recommended to check out Pointe Park for beautiful views of the city. Unfortunately it was rather cloudy and we could hardly see the views, but something awesome came out of the adventure. It was rather cold, and one of my friends had to use the bathroom. …

Why You Should Not Get a Selfie Stick!

This is a real issue of mine everyone so hear me out… I am so over seeing people with these ridiculous sticks taking pictures of themselves… IS IT REALLY NEEDED??? Now… I am one of the biggest selfie queens out there… in many of my photos posted you will see my hand extended and I am ultimately trying to capture a memorable moment or place with me in it… so why do I think the Selfie Stick is the WORST thing EVER!!!??? ANSWER: IT TAKES AWAY FROM THE MAIN PURPOSE OF TRAVELING We are already in the frame of mind that “I CAN DO IT ALL BY MYSELF”… but we weren’t meant to do anything by ourself… maybe using the bathroom is good solo… but most other things are better with someone else to share it with!! So you go travel to  see the world and be able to experience …

Amazing FREE Tours When Traveling: Know What You are Taking a Picture of!

Ever get to a new city/country and start snapping pictures of every cool things you see… buildings, people, food.. BUT YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE!!?? While it may be obvious when taking pictures with the Eiffel Tower or even the Statue of Liberty… what about the other buildings and cool things unknown to you. This is usually where people go after EXPENSIVE tours on buses to get and understanding of where you are and know what the heck you are taking pictures. You may not even fall into this category and just roam around cities snapping pictures because “it seems like it is important.” And that is okay too… but I am here to tell you there is another way (and quite frankly I think it is AMAZING!) The answer to knowing more about where you are is: FREE WALKING TOURS WHAT? Yes.. I said it…FREE!!! If you …

Travel like a VIP: Global Entry Rocks

I am here to tell everyone that travels internationally to get Global Entry. After reading this article you should jump on the website, fill out your form and get the next appointment at the nearest airport (hopefully there is one available soon!) Unfortunately as you know there are no photos allowed so I have taken a few from the global entry site. For those who are oblivious to what I am ranting and raving about, Global Entry is a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers in the United States. This takes away LONG customs and immigrations lines and check in lines at US airports (Pre-TSA approved). But there are even more perks that I will let you know about. It is just $100 for 5 years!! So you are paying $20 a year for hassle free travel! You can learn about how to …

You are Never Too “Poor” to Travel!

One of the things my friends or people in general comment on is the fact that traveling or adventure COST SO MUCH!!! I am here to tell you that is absolute BULL… Stop making excuses and change your MIND SET!! So, now you are thinking… “But my situation is different Dr. Wanderlust.” Excuses are all in the same… at the end of the day how you think is what holds you from what you are set out to accomplish. I was listening to an audiobook “What The Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast” and it really made me think of all the LAME excuses I make as to why I don’t get things done. For some it is: “the gym is far away!” “another slice of pizza will be fine!” or “it’s not the right time!” Either way we all have excuses. This is how you can start changing your way of thinking (and yes, …

8 Apps for the Organized Traveler’s Soul

I am one of those overly organized travelers… I even make itineraries.  I research everything in advance, find places I want to see, things I want to do, explore costs the best cost… but I still leave time for the “unexpected” fun I may encounter that my Google search just did not pick up. I have seen many apps out there that are the must haves, and I definitely agree on a few such as Dropbox, Kayak and Skype!!!! Seriously…. what do you do when living overseas for a few months, and just desiring to see your family and friends… but realistically, flying home is not an option…. get on Skype! So, I think if there is anyone out there like myself, that enjoys an organized travel life then here are some Free Apps for you!! I have separated my favorite apps into 3 categories below, and have shared how I use most of these …
